Welcoming a new child is a special time for your family. Solventum provides paid parental leave to give eligible employees time away from work to bond with a new child after birth, adoption or permanent foster placement.

Paid parental leave may work alongside other leave benefits, depending on your situation. If you are preparing to welcome a new child, review your options early so you understand what steps to take and when to take them.

  • 4 weeks at 100% of base pay
  • Up to 6 weeks at 50% of base pay

During the 50% paid leave period, employees may choose to work part-time, if coordinated with their supervisor

Paid parental leave applies to eligible employees after the birth, adoption or permanent foster placement of a child. Employees must be employed by Solventum at the time of birth or adoption.

Eligible employees may also have access to up to 10 weeks of unpaid parental leave. Employees may choose to work part time during this period, if coordinated with their supervisor.

Sedgwick administers several leave-related programs for Solventum, including parental leave, disability, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations.

To request parental leave:

  • Talk with your supervisor about your intent to take leave.
  • If the need for leave is foreseeable, provide 30 days’ advance notice to your supervisor and the Solventum Disability and Leave Service Center.
  • If the need for leave is not foreseeable, request leave as soon as practical.
  • Call the Solventum Disability and Leave Service Center at 866-502-5261 for instructions on the required forms and process.

  • All parental leave must be used within one year of birth or adoption.
  • Paid parental leave must be completed before unpaid parental leave begins.
  • Paid parental leave must be taken consecutively, and unpaid parental leave must also be taken consecutively.
  • If you return to work during either portion of leave, you may forfeit the remainder of that portion.
  • If your plans change before or during parental leave, contact your supervisor and the Solventum Disability and Leave Service Center as soon as possible.
